Privacy Policy
We collect what we need to build your business and run the Program. We share your details with a partner only after you say yes to that partner. Our website uses visitor tracking that can identify visitors, which you can turn off below.
Who we are
This policy covers startology.io and the Startology app, operated by Fracs LLC in Ankeny, Iowa. Contact us about privacy at bonnie@fracs.io.
What we collect
- What you give us: your name, email, city, your business idea and details, documents you upload or sign, answers in forms, intro requests and your founder-track profile if you turn it on.
- What we create while building: your build progress, filings, your domain and website details, your 100-person test questions and results, and your 90-day plan.
- Your choices: a record of each consent you give or withdraw, with the date and the wording you agreed to.
- Website activity: pages you visit, how you arrived (including ad and campaign tags), your browser and device, and your approximate location from your IP address.
Visitor tracking and identification
Our website uses LeadLens, a visitor tracking tool, and may use Google Analytics. LeadLens records visits and may try to identify who a visitor is, including the person and their company, by matching technical signals against third-party data sources. If you submit a form, we connect your visit history to the details you entered.
We do not run this tracking for browsers that send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You can also turn it off for this browser with the button below. Google advertising features are disabled.
How we use it
- to review your application and build your business
- to file documents with government agencies on your behalf
- to run your 100-person test and report the results to you
- to connect you with partners, mentors and investors when you ask
- to send you login links, updates about your build and, if you agree, news about cohorts and events
- to measure and improve the website and the Program
- to keep the service secure and meet legal obligations
When we share it
- Partners, only with your consent. When you connect with a partner offer, we share exactly the details listed on that offer with that partner. You can stop sharing in your settings. Partners already in contact with you may keep what they received under their own privacy policies.
- Government agencies. Formation filings with the Iowa Secretary of State become public records, including your company name, registered agent and the organizer or principal address on the filing. EIN applications go to the IRS.
- Service providers who host and run the Program for us under contract: Netlify (website hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (email), Google (analytics), LeadLens (visitor tracking), domain registrars, website builders and research panel providers.
- The affiliated fund, only if you turn on Fund first look.
- Employer partners, only your founder-track profile and only if you turn it on.
- Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of people and the Program.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing with a partner after your consent may count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state laws; you can withdraw that consent at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and build records while you are in the Program and for up to seven years after, for tax, legal and record-keeping needs. Website activity is kept for up to 24 months. Consent records are kept as long as needed to show what you agreed to.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, and you can withdraw any consent, by emailing bonnie@fracs.io. You can change partner sharing, Fund first look and marketing emails in your app settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, including the right to appeal a decision about your request. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
The Program is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
Login uses one-time email links. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited by role, and our database blocks direct access from browsers. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away if you think your account was compromised.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
