How Startology is paid for

Founders pay nothing for their build. Startology is funded by organizations that want to work with new businesses:

• Sponsorships. Banks, credit unions, insurers, software companies and economic development groups pay to support a cohort or the Program.
• Referral and partner fees. Some partners pay us when a founder chooses to connect with their offer, opens an account, or becomes a customer.
• Placement fees. Some employer partners may pay us when they hire someone they met through the founder track.

How offers are shown

Every partner offer in the app names the partner, says what kind of product it is, and lists exactly what will be shared if you connect. Offers from partners who pay us are marked with a disclosure. We do not rank offers by how much a partner pays us. You can use any bank, insurer or software you want, including ones that are not partners.

Your consent comes first

No partner receives your details until you agree to that specific offer. You can withdraw that consent at any time in the app. Partners agree to use what we share only to contact you about the offer you chose, never to sell it, and to honor your withdrawal.

Not advice or endorsement

A partner offer is not a recommendation that it is right for you. Startology is not a bank, insurance agency, lender or investment adviser and does not provide financial, insurance, legal or tax advice. Banking products are provided by the partner bank. Insurance is sold by licensed partner agents or carriers. Terms, rates and eligibility are set by each partner.

The affiliated fund

Startology’s founder is also building an investment fund that may want to invest in businesses from the Program. This creates a conflict of interest, so the fund only sees your progress if you turn on Fund first look, and saying no never affects your build. Any investment happens only under separate agreements and securities laws. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security.

Founder stories we share are real and used with permission. Example dashboards and sample reports on our website show how the product works and are labeled as examples.
